Photography has always been my thing. My shtick- if you will. I’ve forever enjoyed capturing moments in time: a college graduate’s senior photos, a family bringing out the turkey on thanksgiving, the bright blue eyes of a newborn, even the transitional story of a shelter dog with a troubled past into a love-able confident family member. All centered perfectly, crisply sharpened, and color corrected to fully showcase the beauty in the moment.
Up until December of 2020, I did all of this on my grab-and-go DSLR. Post-Christmas, I haven’t picked it up in months. I now almost solely prefer to capture moments on a bigger scale. A transition from those bright blue eyes, to the roaring James River in Richmond Va. From the glow of a thanksgiving turkey being brought out for all to enjoy, I’m now capturing the metallic burn of the sun at sunset - lighting up bridges and skyscrapers with its heat. The same moments, feelings, ideas, but bigger.
I hope you join me on my journey to continue capturing the world around us. My hope is to evoke the same feelings we all recognize in everyday life- but on a larger scale. Maybe even awaken new emotions; respect for that last ray of sun before sunset, or the beauty of patterns that we never notice on our own. And hey, if you can see the world from a different point-of-view I’d call that a win in itself.
So here’s to a new journey. Starting with a revamp of a years-old website, and a blog where you can follow along with me, how I see the world, and the beauty of the world in each moment.
